Building Out Your WAHspace Profile

At WAHspace, we have created a virtual community for people who currently or want to work from home and the companies that offer work at home opportunities.  Your WAHspace profile is your tool to present yourself to the community and highlight what makes you unique.  Here are some suggestions for how to build out your WAHspace profile and stand out from the crowd.

Add a Profile Picture – You are part of the WAH community now, let us see who you are!  More importantly, uploading a profile picture also allows recruiters who may be hiring remotely get to know you a bit better. We recommend choosing a picture that shows your face and allows the viewer to identify you, so the group shot from the family picnic is probably not the best choice.  Keep in mind that your picture may be viewed by a potential job prospect, so keep things professional.  Also be mindful of the resolution and quality of the photo that you choose.  The picture should appear clear, not blurred, to whomever is viewing it.

Upload Your Resume – Premium members on the WAHspace site can choose to upload their resumes as part of their member profile.  We highly suggest taking advantage of this opportunity to share your professional credentials with the recruiters who might be searching our community for potential new hire talent.  Check out some of our resume tips here.

Include Your Interests and Hobbies – Recruiters and human resource professionals need to know that you have all the right skills to do the job.  Further than that, though, they also want some insight into the type of person that you are.  We suggest populating your WAHspace profile with information about what you like to do outside your working hours.  You can also include any special skills or interests that you may have that would be of interest to an employer.

Utilize WAH University – Did you know that when you complete modules in WAH University, that completion becomes part of your WAHspace profile?  If you have yet to earn your WAH Certification, we highly suggest that you visit WAH University and do so.  Some companies actually prescreen for this credential in any potential applicant.

The more information that you include on your WAHspace profile, the more likely you are to stand out from a crowded field.  For  more information or to join the community, visit www.WAHspace.com today.
